Do you know, why fish is served with lemon?


It is normal that when we go to eat at any of the restaurants or bars, and even in the homes of relatives and friends, the fish we serve accompanied by half a lemon or a couple of slices of lemon.

Initially we can, and should, think of it so that we can add to our plate flavor or taste citrus but sometimes, some restaurants are also employing the taste or smell of lemon to mask with it the taste of a fish not it is very fresh. Same goes with meats and sauces or creams that currently have appropriated the restaurant menus.


However, it seems that the custom of accompanying the fish with lemon is due to a widespread tradition worldwide by the thought that the juice was able to dissolve the spines accidentally poked in the throat.
