How Do We Do It?
Protecting the spontaneous vegetation cover both as a reservoir for auxiliary fauna and as a water retention system for the soil, therefore reducing erosion as well as runoff and aiding the drainage of our soils.
Improving the biodiversity of our plots of land through the installation of preservation plant structures, flowerbeds of regional varieties, as well as the provision of reptile shelters, bird shelters, insect hotels, bat shelters, nests...
At Mundosol we prioritise the protection of the environment by using auxiliary fauna instead of phytosanitary products. This natural technique allows us to control pests efficiently while preserving biodiversity and reducing the chemical impact on our crops. In doing so, we guarantee a healthier production that respects the ecosystem.
We have improved the efficiency of water use on our land by using control points, both climatic and for irrigation. The aim is to determine the exact irrigation needs of the crop and to obtain a high level of efficiency and use of water and fertilisation by the crop.
Improving the efficiency of water inputs to cover the needs of the crop at each phenological stage using sensors (dendrometers, sap flow, zim probes).
We are improving energy efficiency by installing photovoltaic panels with the aim of reducing energy consumption in the central hours of the day, as well as reducing water evaporation by more than 80%, thus reducing the proliferation of algae.

Up to 30% water savings for irrigation
It entails the use of a new plant-based method to estimate the irrigation needs of fruit tree plantations for optimal water management. The combination of plant sensors, remote sensing observation and mechanistic modelling aims to use stomatal conductance as the best indicator of water status and stress level of the plant.
Agri-consciousness: seeks to mitigate the effects of the intensification of agriculture in Campo de Cartagena and thus achieve a balance between agricultural activity and the preservation of the Mar Menor, increasing resilience and sustainability, and guaranteeing economic viability.
Coca-Cola regenerative agriculture: the objective of which is to adapt to future climate change scenarios, conserving and improving biodiversity, water availability and the supply of citrus fruits and, on the other hand, improving the profitability and resilience of citrus growers.
