‘The Carmolí’

At last the hoped rains and the cold Autumn & Winter to Vega Baja have arrived. The normal activity on farms Mundosol Quality has been disrupted by this but have not stopped the work.

Because of the state of the plots, impracticable, agricultural machinery and our employees could not perform the tasks programmed for these dates. We have used for other equally important tasks.

As seen in the picture, we proceeded to the pruning of trees in the area themselves, in this case of palm from our plantations in Los Urrutias.

In the same picture is seen in the background a mountain landscape that is part of our estates, actually it’s a volcanic cone called “The Carmolí”. This “mountain” comes from the activity of an extinct volcano years located on the Mar Menor near the town of Los Urrutias, in the town of Cartagena. This landform is located within the countryside “open areas and islands of the Mar Menor” which has the status of natural park.

“The Carmolí” originated some seven million years ago, during the period of the ‘upper Miocene’, while the other islands of the Mar Menor. It has important environmental values​​: especially botanists. They can be found on its slopes iberoafricanas protected species like ‘cornical’, ‘the palm’, ‘oroval’ or ‘chumberillo wolf’.
